King of the Monsters
King of the Monsters, released for the Super Nintendo, the Sega Genesis, and in arcades. This game is a fighting/wrestling game from 1991, developed by SNK, primarily designed for their Neo Geo MVS arcade system. The players choose from one of six aesthetically unique monsters, or four in the 16-bit console ports, and fights take place in several futuristic Japanese cities.
The game's six characters are Geon, a Godzilla-like dinosaur, Rocky, a Moai-esque golem constructed of boulders, Beetle Mania, a giant Japanese rhinoceros beetle, and Astro Guy, an Ultraman-like superhero. The Neo Geo MVS release also features Woo and Poison Ghost, a King Kong-like giant gorilla and a creature composed of toxic waste, respectively.
